Shawarma & Samsara

M. had invited me to this cool event party in the Design Academy with life acts and an interactive bar made out of wool. I had been out the night before and on my way to the place I realized I was too late to get into the entrance on time, also that I was terribly hungry and hangover so I felt like a loser but turned around and went to a Shawarma place opoosite of Christiania. I immediately felt a connection with the owners of the place and we started to talk. They are from Pakistan and also missed the mountains. I asked them how it is to live in Denmark for them and they said it is ok but they have no Danish friends. One of them made some delicious chicken for me without me having to pay and I felt a great warmth coming from them. I promised to come back with friends and when I left they were standing behind the counter waving their hands. Their eyes looked sad.
Then I went to a small cosy party in Maelkeboetten of R. and R. from Seattle. There E. said she would go later to this Samsara Dancing place on Islands Brygge that happens once a month and is supposed to be great.

I remembered that a German guy at the sauna had told me about this very special place also and that I should go there so I guess it was meant to be. We came to this huge hall on the waterside and loads of people of all ages were dancing there, some barefeet. E. said that people get together at 8 and sing before they start dancing. Seems that very little alcohol and no smoking is envolved. I went on the danceflloor barefeet and soon met there G. who had told me about it. We danced a few songs together in a kind of Thai Chi mode and it was great fun! G. is a body therapeut and Thai Chi practicioner and later he said I am a good dancer!
A funny thing happened there: When I scanned the dancing hall I recognised - due to my visually trained facial recognition ability – the face of a guy from the website couchsurfing.com. He is an icelandic musician and I had looked at his profile a couple of times and actually had considered contacting him. So at a later point I went up to him with a big smile and confronted him with the fact that I knew him etc. He also thought that was quite funny and we emailed and might meet at a later point.
