Ungdomshuset Dec20th 2007: the Demo ended at the former site of the house which they now call Ground69. The organisers liked my idea and had asked in their demo-sms’s ( - organised in a kind of a flash mob strategy - ) to bring ‚Dark stories along and read them on one of the darkest days of the year’. So we read... Baudelaire ‚Flowers of Evil / Abel and Kain, T.S.Eliot ‚Waste Land’, Celan ‚Death Fugue’, Allan Ginsberg, Peter Laugesen, Michael Strunge and more and some people came up and improvised. I was impressed by their sincerity and honest anger. It is a very dark chapter in Copenhagens younger history. To me personally these people represent something like the good conscience of this city.

* kind a speech at the beginning: *
It has been a tough year for Copenhagen.
When the world saw the images last spring
it was hard to believe them,
we rubbed our eyes.
What is going on in Copenhagen?
And when I came here 2 months ago
and started to talk with people
it still was hard to believe.
It made me sad.
It seems that mistakes have been made,
probably on both sides.
But humans make mistakes.
Maybe there is a point where it is possible to go beyond accusations.
Well, I am an artist and not a politician.
And I know that images and poetry are good for the soul.
I think we tend to forget that.
Today is one of the darkest days of the year.
I wanted to read with you tales
that talk about the dark sides in life.
I wanted to celebrate with you
that after tomorrow the light will increase.
So if you have a story about darkness you want to share,
come up and celebrate with us!
We have some wodka here
that we will drink it out of Urban Pilgrims shells.
Since hundreds of years this kind of shell accompagnies the pilgrims.
It has become a symbol for the journey through life.
