Hi, my name is xxx . Laurence & Lene Part 1

Went to this opening of the Frenshdanish artist Colonel at gallery Aesbek. Actually quite clever comments. Mainly dealing with the Danish mentality, so not so different from my endeavours. Ada introduced me to the artist, a quite impressive and charismatic Frenchman. Then there were two friendly women and we started to talk and they invited me to come along with them. Turned out that

one of them, Lene, had lived many years outside Denmark and Laurence spent most of her life in Paris and the US and lives in Copenhagen since 6 years, so we jumped right into the conversation about Danish mentality. Without me having stated anything they immediately said it is typically ‚un-Danish’ that I approached them and that a Danish person hardly ever would approach complete strangers spontaneously with a smile and the words ‚Hi, my name is xxx’. From my ‚scanning the space experience’ I actually did have the impression they were the only people who were sort of open, curious, but I might be wrong. In their eyes there is a lot of desperation and bitterness though Denmark is one of the richest countries in the world. Wow! That was quite an extreme opinion, so they had to explain further... In France alcoholics would be at the bar and everybody would know and accept thy are alcoholics, here alcoholics stay at home or go to socalled Bodegas, drinking places. There is a lot of desperation and depression at home, hidden from society.
