In desperation to talk to the busybusy people from Christiania I went to a meeting about the future of decisionmaking with Tata, Natascha, Elisabeth, Emmerik and I forgot the name of the last person. The meeting was in Danish. 2 women said, if they could be the good fairy they would make the whole process of decisionmaking in Christiania much easier.... Right now everybody here is extremely busy. Emmerik was stressed because he had to be at 2 meetings at the same time... With this Christiania fund important decisions have to be made.

My idea right now is that Christiania is a kind of inversion to Copenhagen, like a crater....going down...or up?

I told K. that here I sometimes feel as if there was a different sense of time – is it a timewarp? It seems almost opposite to what’s going on now ‚outside’ where all is faster, quicker, more pressure, hipper etc. In Christiania it seems more a slowing down, („Entschleunigung“)... is it a feeling of the past or the future or another time dimension? Or is it possible to perceive what`s going on ‚outside’ as a timewarp? To me those places like Woodstock, Moonfisher etc. still to me seem like 20, 30 years in the past.... but, mmmhhh, relations to time and space are relative I guess...

I met K., a very lovely person who has been here almost since the beginning. I learnt a lot from her about Christiania. She says: - Christiania is a magic place. Many people think they can get help here, and they actually do: they relax. Here are no commercials, no logos! - If she could be the good fairy she would bring the old and strong enthusiasm back to maintain things in an alternative way - Christiania can be seen as a psychic landscape, with different emotions in different places - in the 70ties hash here was considered the tree of life, that gives health also in case of some sicknesses - The fund is a an opportunity to save Christiania. Negative about the fund is that things might become more stiff and difficult to change. She perceives it as a ‚forced change’ and feared that Christiania might not be a ‚living political body anymore’... - Christiania is a bit like living in the countryside, rough, with a kind of wild west society. And there is still a lack of girls... who do not enjoy the lack of luxury. - names of streets and people in Christiania are very important. - some people also got fed up with all the meetings and leave. - There are some rituals in Christiania that have a strong tradition, like e.g. the woodburning with kids or Christmas in the Grand Hall - every year free dinner for 2000 people! I think I will go there. - She says: clothes are very important for people in Christiania; that there is a kind of dress code... there are also free clothes... (I see a lot of guys with hooded pullovers) - she says there is a christianitisk language...- ????? - She says people here do not steal and honesty is very important (what Nis said also). If there are problems with one person there are meetings where he/she can defend her/himself and in the worst case someone gets banned for a while, that happened only very few times. - Health: kids here often stronger than city kids. But there have been cases of tuberculosis. - people here need the tourists and visitors to leave money to sustain Christiania...

Powerfailure here in Christiania due to old electrical system. :-/ So I sat at the Moonfisher (Månefiskeren) today, trying to figure out a program for photo editing so that I could work on my images since I had problems installing photoshop. I did not succeed and went home - not in the best mood - at 6 to work on my old PC. Emmerik had brought wood but which was great, but - still powerfailure. So I want back to Moonfisher where the election results are being projected at the moment – doesn’t look good. Seems like the conservatives will win again with just a few seats and nothing will change and people will still be pissed off and all will continue.

Started a course in Thai Chi today here in Christiania with Lars. Not used to those movements but I think I will be able to get into it soon. It is like very dynamic movement in super slow motion, actually cool. I think I will like it. Afterwards I went to the Sauna. Felt very good. I need stuff like that. There was a man lying on the floor of the sauna who got scrubbed by a woman with vulcanic health-mud. Restores the ph-value apparently. At one moment he was sliding along and turning while lying on the floor and that looked quite funny. A guy made the comment "the eternal circle". There is a 'Dachshund' or sausage dog (German: 'Rauhhardackel') at the Sauna office and I always have to smile when I see a dog like that. They seem so willful and remind me of oldfashioned Munich people with a loden coat.

Getting used to rain. It is getting cold. Miss my orange Canadian dune coat every single day. My mom offered me my sisters dune coat which I did not take for vanity reasons. I look in like a huge grey blob. Survived Canada last winter with minus 38, so Copenhagen should be doable.

Someone filled out in the survey that typical for Christiania are wood fires that smell like fires in the Attacama desert in Chile.
I developed a good technique to start the fire: First I make a kind of square with the wood logs, lay them on rumpled-up paper, start to burn the paper in the middle and then I place one log diagonal on top of all. Always works.
I almost burned my wet shoes on the stove, very clever.
Not even a week after I got here I already had to buy the second time wood for 117,-Kronen (approximately 15,-€) in the shop and it’s not getting warmer. Spoke with 2 neighbours here about the possibility buying some wood from them. They started to act strange as if I wanted to steal their wood and mentioned both that they had no money. Guess wood is quite crucial here. But they seemed somehow bitter to me.

Jan told me that there exists some kind of secret Christiania Code and a secret entrance. I would like to find out. But so far it seems to be quite Christianian not to have time to talk. Let's see. Waited at moonfisher tonight. Weird how people communicate. How long or how intense they look into each others eyes. Or: how short and wannabesuperficial. Smiles get returned seldom. Everybody wants to be the coolest.

I talked about the idea of a tattoo on my back: the ceiling of a rococo church. None of the tattooists had ever seen something alike and the thought did not leave me. When I visit a place like the garden houses at Stift Melk e.g. with all the mirrors and the yellow and green, I feel completely in tune. Apparently a tattoo like this is definitely doable, the colouring good in terms of aging skin. Would be around 3 times a six hours session, and Ivan told me the best guy in Berlin where I could do it. An irrational thing to do. I just love the idea of the roccaille and the dissolving line like e.g. the ceiling of the Wieskirche or http://www.prause-restaurierung.de/img/rokoko-ornament.jpg. Actually the idea of the dissolving line reminds me of urban pilgrims: It is also a kind of dissolving in space, dissolving in the city.

Danes live and stay in one place, there "hometown", only exception is Copenhagen (people come to this town, if they have money :-( ). I have lived in different places in Denmark (and Germany), and I feel like a foreigner here myself. All Best Jørgen Hedegaard

Gerd Gerhard Loeffler zu Coffee Flowers 2008: @downfall of europe (again): Maybe the fact that capitalism bought the hippie-idea was the biggest mistake the hippies could ever make. They sold out their ideals, didn't they? @production: I'm not sure if production is the actual key to a society. In my opinion the eastern countries produced quite well. The stuff just worked. Try that with China's stuff...
